Why Cleaning With Corrosive Acids?

There are lots of people working with hydrofluoric acid to make their coating products stay on the surface. Also, there are plenty of reasons to avoid using those kinds of acids. To name a few of those reasons:

  • It is environmentally irresponsible
  • It doesn’t always work
  • It’s dangerous for human beings
  • It’s corrosive and more

The Resurfacing Experts know that and therefore we avoid putting strong acids on our refinishing process. Whenever you want to use hydrofluoric acid on a surface there is a small possibility that it stays. Even when it doesn’t, it may burn skin with ease.
There is also a huge possibility that this acid sprays into your floor and your carpets, ruining them forever. It might also corrode pipes and faucets, which is why we do not recommend using acids at all.
As said before, an acid may not work as intended because it leads to bubbles of moisture on the surface. Eventually, these bubbles lead to the surface peeling out undoing the work. Many times we fixed acid etching from a previous refinisher’s work.
You must ask before hiring. We have our own method to refinish without acids. However, from time to time there are a few cases where using acid is a must. For any other job, we do it eco-friendly and pocket-friendly in no time.
